Duties and responsibilities: Dance movement psychotherapists use movement and dance to enable personal, emotional, cognitive, spiritual, physical and social integration and development. .Based on the principle that movement reflects an individual's thoughts and feelings, dance movement psychotherapists acknowledge and support clients' movements.
Dance movement psychotherapists support a broad range of individuals of all ages, including those with:
·         emotional or mental health needs;
·         physical disabilities;
·         addiction or substance abuse problems;
·         Personal development needs.
Dance movement psychotherapy is practiced with both individuals and groups in health, education, community and social service settings and in private practice.
Salary: $40,000 - $50,000 a year
Education: Dance/movement therapy graduate programs educate students in the content areas of psychological theory, human development, multicultural perspectives, group process, behavioral research, psychopathology, psych diagnosis and assessment skills; DMT theory, expressive and communicative aspects of verbal and non-verbal behavior, movement observation and analysis, human anatomy.


Reflection: Do you think you would like to be one? Why? Why not? I don’t like to be one in this career (Dance/ movement therapist), because I don’t like to dance
