Thanksgiving Day in the United States is a holiday on the fourth Thursday of November. It precedes Black Friday.

Thanksgiving Day is traditionally a day for families and friends to get together for a special day

Day of giving thanks for the blessing of the harvest and of the preceding year. Several other places around the world observe similar celebrations. It is celebrated on the fourth Thursday of November in the United States.

History: Thanksgiving is a particularly American holiday. The word evokes images of football, family reunions, roasted turkey with stuffing, pumpkin pie and, of course, the Pilgrims and Wampanoag, the acknowledged founders of the feast.

Dental Assistant

Duties and responsibilities: The duties of a dental assistant are among the most comprehensive and varied in the dental office. The dental assistant performs many tasks requiring both interpersonal and technical skills. Although state regulations vary, responsibilities may include:

• assisting the dentist during a variety of treatment procedures
• taking and developing dental radiographs (x-rays)
• asking about the patient's medical history and taking blood pressure and pulse
• serving as an infection control officer, developing infection control protocol and preparing and sterilizing instruments and equipment

Salary: $23,550 to $47,580.

Education: There are no formal education requirements for entering a career in dental assisting. Some assistants have a high school diploma and only receive on-the-job training; however, postsecondary dental assisting programs offer more comprehensive career training.

Yes i would like to be one in these career because I think dental assistant is a interesting job.

Dental Lab Technician

Duties and responsibilities: Dental Laboratory Technology is both a science and an art. Since each dental patient's needs are different, the duties of a dental laboratory technician are comprehensive and varied.

·         Replaces partial or total loss of natural teeth by constructing partial or full dentures (metal and non-metal).

·         Restores natural teeth by fabricating crowns and bridges.

·         Corrects dental irregularities by manufacturing fixed or removable appliances.

Salary: A Dental Laboratory Technician earns an average wage of $15.27 per hour. 

Education: Dental laboratory technicians may receive their education and training through a two-year program at a community college, vocational school, technical college, university or dental school. Graduates of these programs receive either an associate degree or a certificate. Needs a high school diploma or its equivalent to apply to an accredited dental laboratory technology program.

Yes I would like to be one in this career because I think is a good career by care other people and is so interesting.

Veterans Day

On the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month of 1918, an armistice, or temporary cessation of hostilities, was declared between the Allied nations and Germany in the First World War, then known as “the Great War.” Commemorated as Armistice Day beginning the following year, November 11th became a legal federal holiday in the United States in 1938. In the aftermath of World War II and the Korean War, Armistice Day became Veterans Day, a holiday dedicated to American veterans of all wars. Remained in the public imagination as the date that marked the end of the Great War. In the United States, an official wreath-laying ceremony is held each Veterans Day at the Tomb of the Unknowns in Arlington National Cemetery, while parades and other celebrations are held in states around the country. Britain, France, Australia and Canada also commemorate the veterans of World Wars I and II on or near November 11^th.

              

Reflection: this research about Veterans Day, I can learn more about these persons go to the world war and also I can learn that other countries like Britain, Australia and Canada commemorate the Veterans Day.
