Online research

Duties and responsibilities: Chiropractors are health care providers who work with patients dealing with problems related to bones, muscles, ligaments and tendons. They usually work either in private practice or in health care clinics or facilities. Chiropractic must have a Doctor of Chiropractic degree, which usually takes four years to complete. Chiropractors also refer new or recurring patients for additional diagnosis or care from other medical providers. If a new patient comes in complaining of back issues, for instance, he may be sent for X-rays.

Salary: $ 134,941

Education Educational requirements for doctors of chiropractic are among the most stringent of any of the health care professions.
The typical applicant at a chiropractic college has already acquired nearly four years of pre-medical undergraduate college education, including courses in biology, inorganic and organic chemistry, physics, psychology and related lab work. Once accepted into an
accredited chiropractic college, the requirements become even more demanding — four to five academic years of professional study are the standard. Because of the hands-on nature of chiropractic, and the intricate adjusting techniques, a significant portion of time is spent in clinical training.

Reflection: Do you think you would like to be one? Why? Why not
